The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has inducted 201 aviation security cadets in an effort to solve current difficulties in airport and passenger management.
The PUNCH reported that the Managing Director of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, said during the passing out parade ceremony for Aviation Security Cadets on Tuesday in Lagos that the training was one of the efforts the agency was taking to ensure total safety at airports.
The STP 123 Course is an eight-week residential training program designed to help new cadets integrate into the civil aviation business by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Aviation Security measures proactively through locally recognized laws.
“This ceremony not only marks an important milestone in your careers, but also in FAAN’s journey to strengthen the nation’s aviation security.”
“It is also one of our strategic responses to the increase in the volume of passengers using our airports,” she continued.
Kuku challenged the cadets to use what they had learned during the training session, asking them to uphold the highest levels of honesty and professionalism.
According to the FAAN CEO, because the aviation industry is based on security and safety around the world, the aviation security department is vital to passenger facilitation and airport operations.
