The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has engaged members of the International Airlines Association of Nigeria in a bid to enhance protocol services and improve passenger experience across the country’s airports.
The engagement was disclosed in a statement issued by FAAN on Sunday. According to the authority, its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, held an interactive session with members of the association at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, to explore ways of strengthening collaboration and improving service delivery.
The statement said the meeting offered a platform for both parties to deliberate on issues of mutual interest affecting airport operations and passenger services.
Agbebire explained that the engagement was designed to strengthen collaboration between FAAN’s Department of Protocol and Passages and airline operators, while also creating an avenue for airlines to raise and discuss challenges affecting their operations.
“In response, the airline representatives raised a number of operational concerns, including inadequate signage related to the ongoing landside construction works, insufficient lifts, shuttle bus challenges, and issues with airside ramp markings affected by the ongoing airside construction activities. They also sought greater support to enhance customer experience,” the statement read.
In response, the FAAN director assured stakeholders that all concerns and observations raised during the meeting would receive due attention as part of efforts to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency at airports across the country.
He stated that the authority would thoroughly review the issues highlighted during the engagement “with a view to improving service delivery and operational standards across the airports.”
