The Chairman of the Enugu State Tourism Board, Dame Rita Mbah, said the government will provide full assistance to arts curators and gallerists in order to improve the local economy.

According to Vanguard, Dame Mbah provided the guarantees at the weekend launch of the Kachi James Gallery in Enugu.

“Art galleries are a great idea since they not only promote tourism by drawing a lot of tourists, but they also create jobs and enhance the local economy by encouraging the purchase of artwork.

“For this reason, the Enugu State Tourism Board enthusiastically backs Kachi James Gallery’s outstanding work.

“I therefore urge our creatives, art enthusiasts, and businesses to seize this fantastic opportunity being created by the administration of Governor.”

“Peter Mbah would start art galleries and other companies since Enugu is now open for business,” the woman claimed.

The proprietor of the gallery, Kachi Aghasili, explained in her remarks that the gallery was founded because of her passion for the arts and intellectual property as well as the promising business climate in Enugu. She also added that the state had a huge diversity of the arts and history to support the business.

She declared that she was committed to giving up-and-coming artists who lacked the huge names to fit within the established ones a chance.

She emphasized, “We want to give emerging artists a chance to be seen, heard, and discovered.”

Senator Osita Ngwu, who attended the gallery’s presentation, praised the private sector’s contributions to the development of the arts industry and said that doing so was another way to spread the Igbo idea of “Aku Ruo Ulo,” or thinking at home.

“I am overjoyed by what I have observed today. By bringing this art gallery to Enugu, Kachi James has demonstrated the strength of character she possesses. It is a private initiative, and I wholeheartedly applaud it,” said the senator representing Enugu West.
