The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has reported that an Enugu Air aircraft experienced a nose-landing gear fault while arriving from Lagos at Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
According to a statement by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, the incident occurred around 19:10 on Thursday during landing on runway eight.
The aircraft, registered as SN-BZN, came to a stop on the runway shortly after touchdown.
Agbebire confirmed that the aircraft is owned by Enugu Air, according to TheCables.
“FAAN’s airport emergency resources, including fire tenders and medical standby, were deployed as standard procedure.
“All passengers and crew were safely disembarked and evacuated to the terminal, using the Apron buses. Evacuation was completed without injury and concluded at 19:48 hrs.”
FAAN stated that its aerodrome rescue and firefighting services were on standby as the aircraft and surrounding airside were secured.
The agency emphasized that passenger, crew, and airport-user safety remains its top priority and pledged to provide updates to the public as soon as verified information is available.
