Enugu Air, operated by XEJET, has taken delivery of a new Embraer 195 aircraft, reinforcing its commitment to delivering safe, reliable and efficient air travel.
In a statement signed by XEJET’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Emmanuel Iza, the airline expressed appreciation to Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, for his support and vision. It noted that his commitment to aviation development is enhancing connectivity and stimulating economic growth in the region.
Iza said the aircraft acquisition marks another milestone in the airline’s expansion drive, as it works to build a dependable carrier for passengers, with additional services set to be introduced in the coming weeks.
Enugu Air is a Nigerian carrier owned by the Enugu State Government.
Launched in July 2025, the state-backed airline was established to enhance regional air connectivity, stimulate economic activity and promote the growth of the local aviation sector. It operates from Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu State.
At its inauguration on 7 July 2025, Enugu Air commenced commercial operations with three Embraer 170 aircraft, each configured to seat about 76 passengers.
Enugu Air partnered with private carrier XEJET, which possesses the required regulatory clearances to operate flights on its behalf while the airline completes its Air Operator Certificate application.
Under this agreement, XEJET conducts scheduled domestic services for Enugu Air, and ticket bookings are managed through XEJET’s platform.
