Emirates Airlines has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to Nigeria despite concerns over low load factors on its Dubai-Lagos route.
The airline dismissed speculation about withdrawing services, signaling confidence in the Nigerian market.
According to the statement signed by the management in Dubai, Emirates Airlines stated that since resuming Lagos operations last year, it has maintained healthy and steady load factors.
The airline highlighted strong performance in its premium cabins, noting that it is one of the only two carriers offering First Class service on the route.
The airlines emphasized that its Business and Economy Class services remain popular among business and leisure travelers on the Lagos-Dubai route.
Emirates Airlines also highlighted strong demand for its cargo services, with Nigerian goods being transported via its Boeing 777 aircraft.
Additionally, it noted positive customer feedback and strong relationships with key stakeholders in Nigeria’s aviation, tourism, and trade sectors.
“In February 2025, Emirates signed an interline agreement with Air Peace, expanding its footprint to 13 new cities in Nigeria and providing travelers with more opportunities to connect with the airline’s world-class product and service.
“The move comes just five months after the resumption, demonstrating the airline’s unwavering commitment to scaling its operations to better serve travelers in Nigeria,” the statement emphasised.
