The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that Emirates Airline will participate in the upcoming Africa Tourism and Creative Economy Expo, scheduled for November 24–25 in Abuja.
Emirates’ involvement highlights the UAE’s commitment to deepening relations with Nigeria and Africa, particularly in tourism, trade, and the creative economy.
The expo, organised by Afrocultour in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, recently received endorsement from the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
In a confirmation letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of Afrocultour, Mr. Chuks Akamadu, in Abuja on Tuesday, the UAE Embassy conveyed its warm regards and expressed appreciation for the invitation.
As a leading global carrier, Emirates’ participation in the expo demonstrates its commitment to advancing connectivity, fostering innovation, and supporting economic growth.
A statement on Wednesday expressed optimism that the expo would provide a unique platform for the UAE to reaffirm its enduring partnership with Nigeria and the wider African continent in promoting initiatives that foster sustainable development and shared prosperity.
The forthcoming expo seeks, among other objectives, to encourage African nations to substantially increase their annual budgetary allocations for tourism and the creative economy, while also launching the “Agenda 2030” initiative.
