Delta Air Lines has introduced its next-generation Airbus A350-900 and A330-900neo aircraft on the Lagos–Atlanta route.

In a statement released on Sunday, the airline said the route will be served by a combination of both aircraft types through late November.

From early December, all Lagos–Atlanta flights will be operated exclusively with the A350-900, Delta’s flagship long-haul aircraft.

According to the airline, the upgraded operations will continue throughout the winter season to accommodate the surge in travel and cargo demand typical of the holiday period.

Manager, Sales, West Africa, Delta Air Lines, Mary Gbobaniyi, said, “Both the A350-900 and A330-900neo represent Delta’s latest generation of widebody jets, featuring the airline’s signature four-cabin configuration: Delta One® Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Delta Main Cabin. Each cabin offers enhanced privacy, space, and personalised service for a more enjoyable flight experience.

She further added, “The Airbus A350-900 is one of the most technologically advanced aircraft in Delta’s fleet, designed for long-haul operations with greater seating capacity, ambient lighting, and quieter cabins to reduce fatigue on extended journeys.”

Gbobaniyi added that the aircraft offers enhanced fuel efficiency and increased cargo capacity, catering to both passenger and freight demands during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.

The statement also highlighted that Delta One® customers can enjoy lie-flat seats, chef-curated meals paired with Taittinger champagne, and Missoni-designed amenity kits. Delta Premium Select features wider seats with greater recline and upgraded amenities, while Delta Comfort+ offers extra legroom, priority boarding, and dedicated overhead storage space.
