Dana Motors Limited, the sole distributor of Kia automobiles in Nigeria, has announced plans to launch Compressed Natural Gas vehicles by the end of this year.
The Punch reported that the company declared in a statement that the action was part of its goal to transform transport in Nigeria and that its Lagos facility will now produce buses under the DFM brand.
After launching the Kia Soul, Nigeria’s first electric vehicle, Dana Motors said that it would soon be launching a variety of high-efficiency CNG-powered automobiles.
The organization’s vice chairman, Francis Ogboro, stated, “At Dana Motors Limited, our mission is to provide Nigerians with cutting-edge, environmentally sustainable, and cost-effective automotive solutions.
“The introduction of CNG-powered vehicles perfectly aligns with our vision to improve the standard of living for all Nigerians while addressing the increasing cost of vehicle ownership,” the statement reads.
The organization’s vice president, Olu Tikolo, adding, “We hope to improve Nigerians’ overall quality of life by recognizing the potential of CNG cars to revolutionize public transportation.
“The launching of CNG-powered vehicles will significantly contribute to Nigeria’s emissions reduction, sustainability, and affordability goals.”
