In response to an ongoing operational audit by the nation’s regulatory authorities, Dana Air announced the temporary disengagement of some staff members, as disclosed by the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa.
The audit, a joint effort between Dana Air and regulatory bodies, aims to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Mr. Ezenwa stated, “In light of the ongoing audit, Dana Air has made the decision to temporarily disengage some staff members pending the conclusion of the audit.”
This move is aimed at efficient resource management and a comprehensive review of operational procedures.
Acknowledging staff dedication during this uncertain period, Dana Air expressed gratitude and assured efforts are underway for a prompt resolution.
The airline reiterated its commitment to cooperate fully with authorities for a smooth audit process and emphasized ongoing support for staff and stakeholders.
The recent suspension of Dana Air’s Air Operator Certificate by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority in April further underscores safety concerns surrounding the airline.
This suspension, following a runway incursion incident, marks the second time in two years that Dana Air has faced AOC suspension over safety violations.
Dana Air management assured ongoing efforts to address concerns and prepare for a safe and efficient operational restart, expressing confidence in overcoming challenges with the support of staff and stakeholders.
