Cowry Securities Limited has strengthened its position as one of the most active dealing member firms on the Nigerian Exchange, ranking among the top performers in both the equities and fixed-income segments of the market.
The firm delivered a strong trading performance during the final week of May 2026, according to the weekly broker performance report released by the Nigerian Exchange Limited, underscoring its growing influence within the country’s competitive brokerage landscape.
Data from the NGX covering transactions executed between 25 and 29 May 2026 showed that Cowry Securities placed second overall in terms of transaction value traded on the exchange.
The firm facilitated transactions worth N18.19bn during the week, accounting for a substantial share of both institutional and retail trading activity on the exchange despite the shortened trading window caused by the public holiday.
Beyond its strong showing in the equities market, Cowry Securities also demonstrated its strength in fixed-income trading, securing the ninth position in the ranking of bond transaction volumes during the same period.
Market analysts say the firm’s strong performance across both the equities and fixed-income segments underscores a strategic focus on diversifying its revenue and transaction streams across multiple asset classes, rather than depending exclusively on equity market activity.
The latest rankings are also consistent with Cowry Securities’ long-standing presence among the Nigerian Exchange’s leading brokerage firms.
Over the years, the company has regularly featured within the top tier of active dealing member firms, reflecting its sustained market relevance, robust client base, and ability to execute large-volume transactions across varying market conditions.
Commenting on the performance, senior executives at Cowry Securities said the milestone reflects the firm’s continued commitment to delivering seamless and efficient access to investment opportunities for both local and international investors.
They added that the company remains focused on enhancing market participation and supporting liquidity across the Nigerian capital market through effective trade execution and client-focused brokerage services.
The milestone comes at a pivotal moment for the wider financial services group.
Cowry Asset Management, the parent company of Cowry Securities, is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of operations in the financial markets and highlighting its long-standing role in Nigeria’s investment and asset management space.
