The Lagos high court in Ikeja has granted the former Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, a N50 million bail on Friday.
In the ruling, Judge Rahmon Oshodi granted Emefiele bail with the condition of providing two sureties for the same amount, according to The Punch.
The former CBN is facing trial for accusations of abuse of office.
According to the judge in his ruling today, the sureties must be gainfully employed and have paid the three-year tax of the Lagos State government.
EFCC had arraigned Emefiele and Henry Omole, before Justice Rahmon Oshodi on Monday with the charge marked ID/23787c/2024 and dated April 3, 2024.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Recall that EFCC had filed a fresh 26-count charge bordering on abuse of office & corruption against the immediate former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
