Embattled former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail of N20 million by a Lagos High Court on Tuesday.

According to Channels, the presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, granted bail to Emefiele after considering the arguments presented by Emefiele’s legal representative, Joseph Daudu (SAN).

The presiding judge dismissed the assertion made by the Federal Government that Emefiele posed a risk of fleeing.

The presiding judge determined that the government did not present any factual evidence to substantiate its assertion.
