The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria has revised its tax education syllabus as part of efforts to enhance the quality of tax knowledge and practice in the country.
In addition, the institute has transitioned to Computer-Based Examinations, a move aimed at improving the efficiency and professionalism of the examination process.
This was disclosed recently in a statement signed by CITN’s Registrar/Chief Executive, Afolake Oso, declaring the result of its just concluded 2024 Diet Examination.
It further emphasized the importance of students familiarizing themselves with the new technology ahead of upcoming exams and expressed its readiness to guide them through the process.
The institute highlighted that its examinations present valuable opportunities for professional growth and development, contributing to the ongoing improvement of standards in the taxation profession.
The institute stated that it has successfully tested and recorded significant success with the CBT model, leading to its approval for use in professional examinations starting from 2025.
It stated, “We shall be hosting a sensitisation programme as an avenue to appraise students of CBT modalities and acquaint them with the functionality of the platform.
“This programme will also afford students opportunity to be tried in mock exam before the actual examinations. We encourage students to take advantage of this opportunities to intimate themselves with this new format by attending our sensitisation and demo program.”
