The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and Lagos Business School have partnered up to develop groundbreaking dual qualification programs for bankers and other financial industry professionals.
The PUNCH reported that this was disclosed in a CIBN statement that was released on Friday.
The MBA/Chartered Banker and SMP/Chartered Banker programs are designed to assist participants in comprehending the current business climate in Africa.
The President of CIBN, Dr Ken Opara, stated at a cocktail event commemorating the start of the CIBN/LBS collaborative Chartered Banker/SMP two-in-one Program, that the initiative would improve the managerial competencies and strategic thinking capacities of industry executives, while also implementing strategies for effective change processes.
Opara went on to say, “With an SMP/MBA from LBS and an ACIB certification from CIBN, you gain access to a global network of international business leaders across Africa, the knowledge and skills to accelerate your career and thrive in the African business market at affordable and flexible pay.”
According to the CIBN President, the programs will equip financial services professionals with a firm foundation in management and leadership through hands-on training, cross-functional skill development, peer learning, and case studies.
“This means that you can earn the Chartered Banker designation and the SMP certification by completing a single program: Chartered Banker and SMP,” Opara added, explaining how the project will allow participants to run one program and earn two qualifications.
As a supporter of the next and younger generations, this project is appropriate because of its hybrid distribution method. This would enable participants to accomplish their goals without hindrance.
The project is oriented towards the future and takes into account how the business environment is evolving. “I am convinced that this endeavour will strengthen the intended growth of capacity within the financial services sector, and both CIBN and LBS will be recognized for their role in organizing the program,” he declared.
