The Bankers Hall at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye has been officially opened by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria as part of its attempts to improve the country’s banking and finance education by infusing professionalism into the course’s teaching and learning processes.
Vanguard reported that the beautiful, cutting-edge building is a legacy gift from The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
Vanguard reported that the cutting-edge building is one of seven model projects that the Institute has given to various Institutions across the six geopolitical zones. Due to its innovative position as the first tertiary institution in the CIBN connection scheme, Olabisi Onabanjo University was selected.
Prof. Oluwatoyin Ashiru, the provost of Olabisi Onabanjo University, and Ken Opara, the president and council chairman of CIBN, dedicated the stylish, cutting-edge structure, which serves as a lecture hall, demonstration classroom, and multipurpose centre.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council of Olabisi Onabanjo University expressed their deep gratitude for the exceptional deed of generosity and corporate responsibility performed by the CIBN while conducting the commissioning ceremony.
“This admirable act embodies the collaborative attitude between academia and business. Working together, academia and industry can close the knowledge gap between theory and application.”
In his remarks, the first tertiary institution in the CIBN linkage institution, Olabisi Onabanjo University, was congratulated for this achievement by Ken Opara, Ph.D., FCIB, President/Chairman of Council, CIBN.
Among other benefits, this achievement gave the institution the rare honour of being one of the beneficiaries of the Institute’s Legacy Project.
