Chinese artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek has launched a major upgrade to its V3 large language model, intensifying competition with United States’ tech leaders such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

The latest model, DeepSeek-V3-0324, is now available on the AI development platform Hugging Face, marking the company’s latest effort to establish a strong foothold in the evolving AI landscape.

The upgraded model demonstrates notable improvements in reasoning and coding capabilities over its predecessor, with benchmark tests showing enhanced performance across multiple technical metrics published on Hugging Face.

DeepSeek has rapidly gained recognition in the global AI sector, developing models that rival Western counterparts while maintaining lower operational costs. The company introduced its V3 model in December, followed by the release of its R1 model in January.
