Chevron Nigeria Limited has a new Chairman and Managing Director, Jim Swartz.
This was announced in a statement on Wednesday by General Manager, Policy, Government, and Public Affairs Chevron Nigeria Limited, Esimaje Brikinn.
Swartz, who was the Vice President of Capital Projects in Houston, Texas, prior to his appointment, was named Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria/Mid-Africa Business Unit on April 1, 2024, according to a statement.
“He brings a wealth of experience in upstream business and a proven ability to build effective partnerships with stakeholders,” the company said in a statement.
Swartz graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Oklahoma.
He took over from Richard Kennedy, who chose to retire after nearly 40 years with the organization.
Swartz joined Chevron in 1990 as a geologist in Louisiana and has subsequently occupied roles of increasing importance in Angola and the United States, according to the statement.
