The Board of Directors of Chemical and Allied Products Plc has announced the election of Mr. Folasope Aiyesimoju as Chairman of the Board.
Nairametrics reported that the appointment, which became effective on June 15, 2023, came about as a result of Mrs. Awuneba Ajumogobia’s retirement.
This information was contained in the company’s notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited.
In accordance with the declaration made by the Company Secretary/General Counsel, Ayomipo Wey, Mr. Aiyesimoju was appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of CAP Plc on October 5, 2021.
Currently serving as UAC of Nigeria Plc’s Group Managing Director, Aiyesimoju is in charge of developing the company’s overall strategy and fostering the creation of long-term value.
Additionally, he is the creator of Themis Capital Management, a company that invests in high-potential businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa.
He was employed by renowned international investment company Kohlberg Kravis Roberts before to starting Themis.
His experience also includes leading mergers and acquisitions in Nigeria while employed by the Standard Bank Group.
He began his career working with ARM Investment Managers, one of Nigeria’s top wealth management and investment advice organizations, and Ocean and Oil Holdings Limited, a main investment company in that country.
He serves on the boards of MDS Logistics Limited, Grand Cereals Limited, UAC Foods Limited, and UPDC Plc in addition to his duties as GMD of UACN.
Mr. Aiyesimoju graduated from the University of Lagos with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Estate Management. In 2006, he was granted permission to use the CFA designation and received a Certificate of Excellence in Real Estate Development and Finance.
Awuneba Ajumogobia will retire from her position as chairperson and independent non-executive director of the company’s board of directors on June 15, 2023.
