The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.) has given his approval for Mallam Shekarau Omar to serve a second term as Executive Director Small and Medium Enterprises.
Omar will now hold office for an additional four years, after his first tenure was set to expire on March 5, 2023.
The senior media assistant to the minister of trade and investment, Ifedayo Sayo, made this information public in a statement.
The SME Directorate has been repositioned by Mallam Omar, the current ED SME, through a notable increase of the portfolio and a noticeable improvement in the quality of the risk assets.
In a similar vein, the President gave his approval to Mabel Ndagi’s appointment as Executive Director, which will begin on March 19, 2023.
The statement reads, “Ndagi will be replacing a retiring Executive Director, Toyin Adeniji who would be retiring March 18, 2023 after serving her second and final term in office.
“She is currently the General Manager Government and External Communications for Bank of Industry. Ms Ndagi has served diligently in the bank for over 16 years.”
