The Board of Directors of BUA Foods Plc in a statement issued this afternoon, announced the appointment of Mrs. Yemisi Lowo-Adesola as an independent non-executive Director of the firm.
Her appointment is effective right away and is contingent on the support of the company’s shareholders at its next annual general meeting.
In the release, it was mentioned that Mrs. Yemisi attended some of the top universities both in Nigeria and overseas.
It states, “Yemisi holds an MBA from Cranfield University School of Management in the United Kingdom and a BSc (with honours) from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria.”
She is a distinguished Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Mrs. Yemisi has over 30 years of expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa in a variety of financial disciplines, including investment banking and private equity.
Yemisi is CedarLink Advisory & Management Services Limited’s Managing Director.
She worked for Standard Chartered Bank, where she held a number of senior management positions over the course of nine years, culminating in the position of Managing Director & Regional Head of Financial Institutions for Africa, where she was in charge of a team made up of people from fourteen different Sub-Saharan African countries.
The International Finance Corporation (a member of the World Bank Group), First Bank of Nigeria Group, Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited (now Stanbic IBTC Plc), and Vee Networks Limited (now Airtel Nigeria Limited) were among the organizations where Yemisi held a variety of senior management positions over the course of her career.
BUA Foods is a major consumer food firm in Nigeria recognized for the production, processing, and distribution of FMCGs in the country.
