BUA chairman, UAE envoy explore new investment partnerships

The Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has hosted the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates, Salem Aljaberi, in Lagos.

The meeting centred on strengthening Nigeria-UAE relations and opening up new opportunities for cooperation, investment and partnership.

Rabiu expressed joy at receiving the UAE envoy and commended his efforts towards deepening ties between both countries.

He said, “It was a great honour to receive His Excellency Salem Aljaberi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Lagos, at my office today.”

The king of commerce said the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the opportunities ahead, expressing optimism that relations between Nigeria and the UAE would continue to grow stronger and deliver meaningful value for both countries.

He revealed, “It was a pleasure exchanging views on the opportunities ahead. I look forward to seeing the relationship between Nigeria and the UAE continue to grow stronger and deliver meaningful value for both countries.”

He also thanked Aljaberi for his visit and “continued commitment to building bridges” between the two nations.

The engagement is significant against the backdrop of BUA Group’s expanding footprint in Nigeria’s productive economy.

The meeting points beyond BUA’s corporate interests to the broader possibilities of stronger economic relations between Nigeria and the UAE, particularly through increased investment and business partnerships.

The business leader said he looked forward to seeing the relationship between both countries “continue to grow stronger” and translate into tangible value for their citizens and economies.

Founded by Rabiu, the conglomerate has major interests in cement, foods, manufacturing, agriculture and infrastructure, with its businesses providing employment and supporting extensive local value chains.

BUA Cement and BUA Foods, two of the group’s publicly listed businesses, have continued to report substantial revenues and profits, underscoring the group’s contribution to industrial activity and government revenue.
