The Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, Mamma Ahmadu, has urged participants in the 2023 Continuous Procurement Capacity Development Training Program to always maintain honesty and transparency in their procurement operations.

The Punch reported that this came about following a three-week strategic capacity training program for procurement officials, according to a statement released by the Bureau of Public Procurement’s Head of Media and Deputy Director of Information, Mrs. Janet McDickson.

Amadu, accompanied by the Director of Legal at the Bureau of Public Procurement, Mr. Olusegun Omotola, praised the enthusiasm shown during the three-week capacity training and challenged the participants not to withhold their expertise.

He asked the procurement officials to make a good difference in their various businesses so they might get better results in the procurement process and improve the economy.

Prior to the exam, the Director of Research Training and Strategic Planning at the Bureau, Mr. Adebowale Adedokun, cautioned the participants against acting improperly or in a way that was against the exam criteria, emphasizing that they should put what they had learned throughout their training to use.

“The exam fulfills three functions: it assesses candidates’ knowledge of the procurement process, prepares them for their roles as procurement officers in accomplishing organizational goals, and formally inducts them into the procurement cadre,” the director stated.
