Boeing surpasses Airbus with 1,173 plane orders in 2025

Hacker group Lockbit leaks Boeing data

Boeing secured net orders for 1,173 airplanes in 2025, surpassing its European rival Airbus for the first time since 2018, a sign of the company’s ongoing recovery.

Last month, Boeing delivered 63 jetliners, bringing its total annual deliveries to 600 aircraft, the highest in seven years, before two fatal crashes and other issues had disrupted production.

Of these, 44 were 737 Max jets, the company disclosed on Tuesday.

Airbus still delivered more planes than Boeing in 2025, with 793 aircraft, though this fell short of its 2019 record of 863 deliveries.

The European manufacturer recorded 889 net orders for the year.

Boeing recorded 174 net orders last month, including over 100 737 Max jets for Alaska Airlines, as announced by the airline last week.

Earlier Tuesday, Delta Air Lines revealed it had ordered at least 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, marking its first order for the wide-body aircraft.

Deliveries are set to begin in the early 2030s, highlighting how airlines are securing delivery slots well into the next decade to replace aging jets and expand their fleets.
