Biscuit manufacturer, A&P Foods Limited, has changed its name and branding to Pladis Foods Nigeria Limited.
The company said in a statement that it was aligning itself with Pladis, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of consumer packaged goods, and its portfolio of snack brands, according to The Punch.
The move will allow the Nigerian branch of the company to continue selling McVities and Haansbro brands on the market, while at the same time providing opportunities for it to leverage the global scale, knowledge, skills, and capacities of the Pladis Group.
According to the Country General Manager of Pladis, Abhishek Sharma, his commitment and focus on excellence and growth in Nigeria has not changed as a result of changing names.
He said, “The change of name will not only benefit the company’s operational procedures, but it will pave the way for a journey towards building a stronger global brand and corporate culture.
“Pladis Foods Nigeria will focus on driving McVitie’s growth, through continuous innovation across product categories and segments, to meet both consumer and market demands.”
The Marketing Director of Pladis Foods Nigeria Limited, Omotola Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi, said, “The decision to move under the Pladis name further underscores the company’s ambitions and commitment to innovation, building sustainable brands, and creating happiness for all stakeholders, in every marketplace.”
