Axxela Limited in collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Gas Marketing Limited has constructed a 5-kilometer natural gas pipeline network in Victoria Island, Lagos which connects Eko Atlantic City to piped natural gas.
This was disclosed in a statement by Axxela Limited, stating the unveiling of the pipeline was a significant achievement in Axxela and NGML’s ongoing 72.5km pipeline infrastructure project, which will span from Victoria Island to the Lekki metropolis.
The project’s initial phase, a 5 km pipeline network that runs from outer Marina to Kuramo Beach, is anticipated to link users from Five Cowrie River, via the Army Officers’ Mess at Bonny Camp, to the planned Lekki International Airport.
Axxela’s Chief Operating Officer, Kehinde Alabi stated that the company’s dedication to developing natural gas infrastructure in the Greater Lagos Area is demonstrated by the first phase of the 72.5 kilometer pipeline network.
“By connecting Eko Atlantic City to first gas, as a pioneer customer on this axis, we are paving the way for more access to the natural gas advantage; providing reliable energy solutions that can aid economic development. For us at Axxela, we are not only fueling businesses, but we are enabling the development of self-sustaining clusters, whilst strengthening Nigeria’s socio-economic growth,” Alabi stated.
The Managing Director of NGML, Justin Ezeala said that NGML and Axxela have gained recognition over the last 20 years for their innovative work and significant contributions to the cause of natural gas advocacy.
