Amazon announced on Wednesday that Apple TV+ will be available on Prime Video later this month in the U.S. for $9.99 per month.
This move is seen as a significant boost for Apple, which has been trailing behind streaming giants like Netflix, Disney+, and its own Prime Video.
Apple TV+ has distinguished itself in the crowded streaming market with a focus on original content, producing popular series such as “Ted Lasso,” “The Morning Show,” and “Severance.” This strategy has earned the service an impressive 72 Emmy Award nominations.
However, despite its accolades, Apple TV+ has faced challenges, including a high subscription cancellation rate, according to market research firm Antenna, while Netflix boasts the lowest cancellation rates among major streaming platforms.
With this addition, Amazon Prime Video will further expand its offerings, which already include channels for HBO Max, Discovery+, Starz, Showtime, and Paramount+.
