Amazon has announced access to Amazon’s virtual healthcare platform, Amazon Clinic as the company ventures into health.
“By creating a healthcare experience that is transparent and simple, we hope to make health care more accessible for all,” the chief medical officer and general manager at Amazon Clinic, Dr. Nworah Ayogu, said in a blog post.
Customers in all 50 states and Washington, DC will be able to quickly connect with licenced professionals via video consultations for more than 30 common health issues, including pink eye and urinary tract infections, the online retail giant announced on Tuesday.
In November 2022, Amazon Clinic became live to help people find healthcare professionals. Instead of offering healthcare services directly, Amazon Clinic offers a platform that links users with telemedicine partners.
Customers must go to Amazon Clinic on the Amazon website or mobile app in order to use the service.
Amazon has been trying to break into the healthcare industry for years. The online retail giant launched and then shut down a telehealth service called Amazon Care.
