Almond production to host insurance industry awards

Through its upcoming Almond Insurance Industry Awards & Consumers’ Nite programme, Almond Productions Limited has announced its intention to celebrate contributions that have aided in the industry’s growth.

Leading performers and the aristocrats of the insurance industry will congregate in Lagos for the annual event, which is set to take place in November.

“The Almond Insurance Industry Awards and Consumers’ Nite, which started in 2018, is aimed at rewarding the ‘Can do Spirit’ of the men and women in the various arms of the industry, who strive daily to sell insurance either to individuals or corporate entities in Nigeria despite the myriad of challenges and obstacles they face yearly,” said the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Almond Productions Limited, Faith Ughwode, during a press conference in Lagos.

“Yet they continue to push forward, using gross premium income to underwrite sizable businesses.”

She said that every branch of the industry would be covered in 12 award categories for the first time since Almond Productions Limited established the awards.

She claimed that the panel of judges for the awards was made up of reputable specialists who were picked for their exceptional achievements and international experiences.

She also claimed that their attendance ensured the awards’ transparency and integrity.

The head of the panel of judges, Ms. Prisca Soares, stated, “I strongly believe that pop culture and entertainment can open up the Nigerian insurance business.

“I strongly believe that the Nigerian insurance industry can be opened up through pop culture and technology, commonly known as insurtech,” stated the chairman of the panel of judges, Ms. Prisca Soares.

“According to Nigeria’s most recent demographic data, between 40% and 50% of the country’s population is disabled.

“It takes deliberate social platforms that speak to this demographic to get them into the insurance sector as either employees or customers of insurance goods and services.”

The organization acknowledged that the traditional strategy of promoting insurance discussions through conferences and seminars had drawbacks, especially because it only reached a narrow audience, such as decision-makers.
