Aliko Mohammed becomes Nestle Nigeria's non-executive director

Nestle Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Mrs. Maryam Aliko Mohammed as an independent non-executive director.

According to Nairametrics, this information was provided in a formal statement that was signed by the company secretary, Bode Ayeku.

Part of the official statement read: “Nestlé Nigeria Plc wishes to notify its shareholders, The Nigerian Exchange Limited, and the investing public of the appointment of Mrs. Maryam Aliko Mohammed as an independent non-executive director effective August 1, 2023.”

Maryam earned her bachelor’s degree in pharmacology from the University of Wales and her master’s degree in business administration from Cardiff Business School, both in Wales. She is also a licensed life coach and addiction counselor.

Maryam began her career in 1995 as a manager at AL-MAN Nigeria Limited in Kaduna State. In 2001, she transferred to the Nigeria Board for Technical Education in Kaduna as a senior planning officer.

She then held a variety of jobs in several companies, including Executive Director at Turner Building Products (Arewa) Limited (2001–2013), Visiting Lecturer at Kaduna Business School, Senior Special Assistant at Baze University, and more.
