The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry partnered with Turkish investors through Turquaz Health Tourism on Friday, to generate one million employment in Nigeria.

The Punch reported that the Turkish investors will work with Nigerian companies in a variety of industries, including health, energy, infrastructure, and education.

At the ACCI offices in Abuja on Friday, participants in the agreement signed several Memoranda of Understanding to begin the cooperation that will aid in lowering Nigeria’s unemployment rate.

The investments we are considering as a result of this cooperation are in the fields of infrastructure, health, and education, among others, Vice President of Commerce, ACCI, Sijuade Kayode, said in a statement made outside the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding.

“These investments are essential for boosting the economy and creating jobs. Therefore, the investments that will result from this agreement are expected to create roughly a million employment.

“In a single year, roughly 500,000 jobs may be produced in the infrastructure industry alone. We can use it to generate a million jobs in the education industry. All that is required of the government is to create an atmosphere that will encourage the growth of the private sector through laws and policies.”

The chamber had agreements with Turkish investors, according to the ACCI vice president, who also claimed that “it shall be taken to the next level by visiting Turkey next month to discuss this partnership further.” The private sector, which creates the economy, is the driving force behind this collaboration.

Speaking further on the collaboration, the Director-General of ACCI, Victoria Akai, added that the agreement with Turquaz Health will prevent money from leaving Nigeria’s health system.

“Medical tourism in Nigeria costs the country numerous billions of dollars, and it is a type of capital flight. We will lessen this through this cooperation and make sure that our money is utilized and spent in Nigeria. This is therefore one of the reasons for this partnership,” she stated.

Vice chief executive officer of Turquaz Health, Naci Hotomaroglu, stated that Turkish investors in the group and from the Turkish Chamber of Commerce in Ankara, Turkey, were thrilled to cooperate with the ACCI in a variety of industries.

“We offer collaborative opportunities that are advantageous to everyone, whether you are a medical facility, travel agency, insurance provider, or governmental entity looking for healthcare solutions.”
