1235 graduates of the National Directorate of Employment have began a five-day program on Monday at the National Directorate of Employment.
The NDE’s Director General, Malam Abubakar Fikpo, revealed this during the training’s Yola opening ceremony.
Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Plateau, Sokoto, and Taraba states all had training sessions going on at the same time, according to Fikpo, which was represented by Mr. Nuhu Bello, Acting Adamawa State Coordinator.
“A total of 1,235 individuals, 65 participants per state, have been chosen from 18 states.
The idea of the NDE-efcc was to give business people who were having problems, a chance to find solutions by learning from experiences from others.
“Or through counseling sessions with seasoned businessmen who serve as the training’s facilitators,” he added.
He claimed that the clinic also aims to teach them effective business management.
Given that many of the participants lacked white-collar occupations, he urged the group to seize the chance they had to excel in life.
According to the Head of Small Scale Enterprise, NDE Abuja, Ms. Chikodi Ike, the NDE designed the program as part of its mission to provide unemployed graduates from tertiary institutions with skills.
Ike, who was represented by the scheme’s Enterprise Development Officer, Ms. Aishatu Aliyu, claimed that the training will increase their ability to be successful in the chosen firms.
The recipients were congratulated by the HOD Small Scale Business, NDE Adamawa, Mrs. Na’amar Jonnah, who also gave them the advice to actively participate in the program to develop their business skills.
She urged them to start their own businesses and help the state and county’s overall socioeconomic development.
Speaking on their behalf, Mr. Bello Ishaq thanked the Federal Government for the chance and pledged that they would do their utmost to employ people in their areas.
The participants were also warned regarding the risks of drug usage.
