Naira trades at ₦1,347.30/$ in official FX market

The naira is exchanging at different values against the United States dollar in Nigeria’s official and parallel foreign exchange markets on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

At the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, the dollar is valued at about ₦1,347.30, according to the latest reported official rate.

In the parallel market, Bureau De Change operators are buying the dollar at roughly ₦1,380 and selling it at ₦1,390.

The figures show that Nigerians who buy dollars in the parallel market are paying more than those who access foreign exchange through the official window.

The gap between the official rate and the parallel market selling rate stands at about ₦42.70 per dollar.

Exchange rates move with dollar supply, demand, market liquidity and trading activities, and the parallel market rate may also differ across locations and among individual currency dealers.

Nigerians who need foreign exchange for international travel, school fees, business transactions and other payments are advised to confirm prevailing rates with their banks and licensed BDC operators before completing any transaction.
