Yemi Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has been named Chairman of the Africa Finance Corporation.
The President and CEO of the AFC, Samaila Zubairu, made the appointment known on Wednesday on the sidelines of the IMF meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.
Cardoso takes over from Mrs Ireti Samuel-Ogbu, who has headed the AFC Board since April 2025.
The AFC is expected to issue a formal announcement of the appointment shortly.
