A plane carrying passengers from the FlyDubai flight at the centre of an alleged midair terror attempt has landed safely in Israel.

The passengers returned after their original flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted to Saudi Arabia following a violent altercation in the cockpit.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz described the incident as an “attempted jihadist terrorist attack.”

Katz alleged that the attacker intended to crash the aircraft with everyone on board.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that the co-pilot of a flyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv attempted to crash the plane after stabbing the pilot.

Passengers restrained the co-pilot, allowing other crew members to safely land the aircraft in Saudi Arabia.
