A section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation was on Monday morning gutted by fire.

The incident occurred in Abuja and affected part of the building, causing panic among workers and visitors as smoke billowed from the affected area.

Although the cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained, Vanguard reported that it may not be unconnected with a power surge.

Firefighters are currently at the scene battling to put out the fire.
