Tinubu orders commencement of palliative road project

President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

BusinessDay gathered that the Federal Executive Council has a major item on its agenda, which is the consideration and approval of the 2026 Appropriation Bill before it is forwarded to the National Assembly.

It was noted that once the National Assembly passes the Appropriation Bill, it will become law upon presidential assent.

Under the constitutional process, the President is required to sign the bill for it to become an Act of Parliament.

President Tinubu is also expected to formally transmit the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the Legislature for presentation and consideration later in the afternoon.

According to the report, the transmission of the bill to the National Assembly is scheduled to take place by 2 p.m., following the conclusion of the Federal Executive Council meeting.
