Afreximbank names TGI premier partner for IATF2025

The African Export-Import Bank has named Tropical General Investments Group as the premier partner for the 2025 Intra-African Trade Fair, a flagship event projected to unlock over $44 billion in trade and investment deals and cement its reputation as Africa’s leading trade and investment platform.

In a statement on Sunday, Afreximbank confirmed that the fair will take place in Algiers, Algeria, from September 4 to 10, 2025, in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat. IATF2025 is expected to feature more than 2,000 exhibitors from across Africa and international markets.

The Executive Vice President, Intra-African Trade and Export Development at Afreximbank, Kanayo Awani, said, “We would like to thank TGI Group for their participation at IATF2025. TGI’s commitment to local value addition, sustainable manufacturing, and inclusive economic growth aligns perfectly with the mission of the trade fair. Their presence at the event will highlight innovative approaches to business, open doors for strategic partnerships, and attract investments that can accelerate Africa’s industrialisation and economic transformation.”

Also, the Vice Chairman of TGI Group, Farouk Gumel, said, “TGI’s ethos is about creating value and enhancing wellbeing across communities. The opportunities within Africa are limitless, and IATF provides a strategic platform to identify and pursue new ideas, partnerships, and resources. We commend Afreximbank’s vision for creating and sustaining the fair and are excited to collaborate as a premier partner for IATF2025.”

According to the statement, IATF2025 is designed not only to showcase goods and services but also to serve as a platform for information exchange, knowledge sharing, and policy dialogue. The fair is expected to drive trade and investment flows, advance the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, and tackle critical challenges hindering intra-African trade.

In addition to exhibitions, the event will feature workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions aimed at promoting innovation, building capacity, and enhancing investment readiness among African enterprises.

The organisers further highlighted that IATF2025 presents a vital opportunity for businesses to expand market access, forge strategic partnerships, and explore export opportunities both across Africa and in global markets.
