Saglev Electromobility Company Limited has spotlighted its strides in green industrialisation, local manufacturing, and automotive innovation in Nigeria, as it prepares to host top-level delegations from the Federal Government and the African Development Bank.
In a statement, the electric vehicle manufacturer said its assembly and production facility in Imota, Lagos, will welcome the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, on July 30, followed by AfDB President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina on July 31.
The company described the visits as a strong endorsement of its growing role in Nigeria’s clean energy transition and Africa’s broader shift toward e-mobility and sustainable transport systems.
Chief Executive Officer of Saglev, Dr. Sam Faleye, hailed the visits, stating, “These visits by national and continental leaders validate our commitment to Nigeria’s industrial future and Africa’s clean transportation revolution.
“We welcome the Minister, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and Dr. Akinwumi Adesina as they witness firsthand the progress being made.”
Saglev, which bills itself as Nigeria’s pioneer indigenous electric vehicle assembler and manufacturer, currently produces 16 EV models, including ride-hailing cars, executive sedans, mid-sized delivery vans, BRT buses, and utility trucks.
Saglev noted that it plays a leading role in advancing local content, technology transfer, job creation, and import substitution within the green mobility ecosystem.
It said the upcoming visits reflect sustained high-level support for industrial transformation and underscore growing confidence—both from the Federal Government and the AfDB—in the ability of Nigerian firms to drive Africa’s energy transition.
“Our facility showcases what is possible when innovation, policy support and regional development financing come together to solve big challenges like climate change, unemployment and logistics efficiency,” the company said.
