Partnership with Air Force to drive aviation growth – Keyamo

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has stated that the collaboration between his ministry and the Nigerian Air Force goes beyond securing Nigeria’s airspace.

According to him, the partnership is also laying the foundation for a sustainable and economically vibrant aviation sector by enhancing infrastructure, boosting local capacity, and attracting investment to drive long-term growth in the industry.

In a statement signed by the ministry, Keyamo said, “The collaboration between our ministry and the Nigerian Air Force is a powerful synergy. We are not just protecting our skies through this partnership; we are building an aviation ecosystem that will serve Nigeria for decades to come.”

The minister pointed to airspace security, infrastructure development, and workforce training as core areas of focus, stressing that the partnership’s benefits reach beyond the fight against terrorism, contributing to broader growth and resilience in the aviation sector.

He stated, “When we guarantee the safety of our skies, we don’t just protect our nation; we send a powerful message to the world.

“A secure airspace attracts tourists, boosts our hospitality industry, and ultimately increases aviation sector revenues that strengthen our GDP.”

Keyamo also commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism and ongoing support in advancing national aviation objectives. He called for continued collaboration with international and regional partners to establish Nigeria as “a beacon of aviation excellence in Africa.”
