Chinese tech giant Tencent has unveiled a new AI model, Hunyuan Turbo S, which it claims can respond to queries in under a second.
According to the statement, the performance surpasses that of the globally popular DeepSeek-R1, as well as Tencent’s previous model, Hunyuan T1, both of which require more time to generate responses.
The firm added that the newly released AI model, demonstrates capabilities in knowledge, mathematics, and reasoning that are on par with DeepSeek-V3, the model powering DeepSeek’s AI chatbot.
This chatbot has recently surpassed OpenAI’s ChatGPT in app store downloads.
DeepSeek did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
