Meta’s Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Bosworth, has told employees dissatisfied with the company’s latest policies that they are free to leave, according to a report by Business Insider.

The statement came in response to an internal chat where an employee criticized Meta for scaling back its diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and allegedly stifling internal dissent. Bosworth dismissed concerns, stating that any staff member who believes leaking company policies to the media is acceptable “should consider working elsewhere.”

When another employee argued that blaming leaks was not the solution and that many Meta workers felt disrespected, Bosworth doubled down. “You should quit if you feel that way, I mean it,” he reportedly said.

The exchange highlights growing internal tensions at Meta as it implements sweeping policy changes, including reducing DEI initiatives and loosening content moderation standards. The company has also begun layoffs this week, controversially targeting what it refers to as “low performers.”

Meta has not publicly commented on the internal discussions.
