Reddit has announced the testing of a new AI-powered feature called “Reddit Answers,” designed to help users find answers to their questions more easily.
The feature, which scours posts on the platform, will provide curated summaries of relevant discussions and details to address users’ queries. This new tool is aimed at enhancing the user experience and positioning Reddit as a stronger competitor against search engines and AI-driven platforms such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Perplexity, which pull information from across the web.
Once a user asks a question, Reddit Answers displays summaries of relevant conversations, along with links to related communities and posts, making it simpler for users to navigate the vast amount of content on the platform.
Currently, Reddit Answers is available only in English and for a limited group of users in the U.S., with plans to expand to other languages and regions in the future.
In its third-quarter report, Reddit revealed a 47% increase in daily active unique visitors, reaching 97.2 million compared to the previous year. Additionally, the company’s global average revenue per user (ARPU) saw a 14% rise, reaching $3.58.
