The national grid on Thursday collapsed, making it the second time in space of two days.
The national grid collapsed on Tuesday, the 10th of such incidents this year.
With the last collapse, the country has recorded 11 of such incidents in 2024.
Generation dropped to 0.00MW from 2,323 megawatts of electricity generated by 22 power plants as of 11 am on Thursday.
The peak generation for Thursday was 3743MW as of 10 am.
Confirming the latest grid collapse, the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company said there was a power outage at 11:29 am.
“Dear Esteemed Customer, Please be informed that we experienced a system outage today, 07 November 2024, at 11:29 hrs, affecting supply within our network.
“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders. Kindly bear with us,“ the IKEDC said.
