Apple Music announced a new feature on Thursday called “Set List,” designed to help artists engage with fans by creating playlists based on their recent concert set lists.

This innovative tool allows musicians to transform their set lists from individual shows, residencies, or entire tours into shareable playlists. These playlists can be showcased on Apple Music, featured on Shazam’s Artist and Concert pages, and shared across social media platforms.

The process for creating a Set List is straightforward. Artists begin by uploading an image for the playlist cover art, then select tracks by searching or pasting Apple Music links. They can also schedule a publish date, allowing them to time the release for when they want fans to hear the playlist, offering a sneak peek into their live performances. Additionally, artists can rearrange tracks to match the order of their actual shows.

Set List is powered by Bandsintown, a music discovery platform that alerts users to upcoming tours and local concerts. To maximize visibility, artists need to connect their Apple Music profiles with Bandsintown.

This new playlist creation tool complements Apple Music’s Set Lists space, which was launched last year to help fans discover upcoming concerts and events.
