A few months ago, Google launched a new feature for Gmail that leverages its Gemini AI, allowing users to search for specific emails by asking questions.

The feature, known as Gmail Q&A, enables users to find information quickly, such as asking, “What time is our dinner reservation on Saturday?” Initially available only on Android devices, Google has begun rolling it out to iPhones.

With Gmail Q&A, users can not only pose questions but also locate unread emails from specific senders by simply instructing Gemini to “Find unread emails by [the person’s name].” The feature can summarize topics based on ongoing conversations in your inbox, such as long-term work projects spanning multiple threads. Additionally, Gemini allows for general search queries without leaving the Gmail app. To access the feature, users can tap the star icon in the top right corner of the Gmail interface.

Google notes that the rollout may take up to 15 days to reach all devices. However, users must have access to Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium to utilize the feature.
