The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board in partnership with Triple Helix Nigeria, has announced the inaugural SciBiz Annual Conference 2024.
The conference aims to provide a platform for key stakeholders to share ideas, explore collaborative opportunities, and co-create pathways for the commercialization of research outputs in Nigeria.
According to NCDMB, this initiative is designed to foster innovation and enhance the integration of research into industry, ultimately driving economic growth and development in the country.
The Maiden edition of the SciBiz Annual Conference 2024, with the theme: ‘Integrating Research, Innovation, and Policy: Triple Helix Pathway to Research Commercialisation’, is scheduled to take place from October 23-25, 2024, in Abuja, according to The Punch.
NCDMB revealed that the conference will convene academia, industry, and government representatives to develop strategies aimed at bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and their practical applications.
This collaboration is focused on addressing societal challenges and ensuring that research outputs effectively contribute to national development and innovation.
It stated that the confab was a timely response to the need for innovations that could turn research into marketable products and services, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth.
The board noted that the conference will feature workshops and breakout sessions covering various topics, including research funding, intellectual property management, and fostering entrepreneurship within universities.
