A well-known figure in the Nigerian film industry, Moses Babatope has been named the CEO of Nile Media Entertainment Group, a company committed to producing top-notch content and sharing African tales with international audiences.
Babatope will utilize his twenty years of experience to direct the activities of the Nile Group. Nile Entertainment, Nile Cinemas, Nile Motion Pictures, Nile Studio Lab, and the Nile Foundation are the five organizations that make up the group, according to Nairametrics.
Babatope clarified that the company’s goal goes beyond only focusing on African stories and instead amplifies them on a worldwide scale, acknowledging the industry’s progress throughout time, “but also to create more revenue streams and deliver major returns for our investors,” Babatope said.
Nile Entertainment, the group distribution arm has already obtained the rights to distribute thirty-one titles. Nile Entertainment will oversee distribution both domestically and abroad, making sure that African narratives are seen by people all over the world.
“We have already secured local and international distribution rights for over 31 titles. Nile Entertainment is opening on a strong note with the highly anticipated third installment of Omoni Oboli’s ‘Wives on Strike 3,” he added.
Moses Babatope was instrumental in bringing Nollywood’s blockbuster films including “A Tribe Called Judah,” “Battle on Buka Street,” and “Omo Ghetto: The Saga.”
to audiences around the world as Managing Director of FilmOne Limited and co-founder of FilmHouse Group.
His collaborations with Hollywood studios such as Walt Disney Company, Warner Brothers, and Sony Pictures recorded major films like “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Aquaman,” “Barbie,” “Aquaman 1 and 2,” “Black Adam,” “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Venom 2,” and “The Woman King” to West Africa.
Recently, Linda Ikeji’s most recent real crime film, “The Night of June 7,” directed by Toka Macboro, is one of the productions for which Nile Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights.
International relationships have been established by Nile Group with the Nigerian International Film & TV Summit, Papaya, IFEC UK, Continental Entertainment, Invention Studios, Amplify Africa, TMPL Motion Pictures, Cinemax Distribution, and the Africa Cinema Summit. Through these partnerships, African stories will hopefully have a greater worldwide influence.
