Google Wallet has received an update aimed at streamlining the process of consolidating all passes in one location.
According to recent release notes for Wallet, as highlighted by Android reporter Mishaal Rahman, Google has introduced a feature that automatically surfaces movie tickets and boarding passes after purchase.
This functionality is contingent on the confirmation email reaching the user’s Gmail inbox. While it may not be universally compatible with all theater chains or airlines at present, Google notes that the feature is currently active for “some” and anticipates adding more in the future.
Google has been progressively enhancing Wallet to enhance its utility. In the previous month, the company extended Wallet passes to WearOS, enabling Android smartwatch users to conveniently access their tickets directly from their wrists.
This encompassed boarding passes, event tickets, gym memberships, loyalty cards, and more. The latest release notes also mention a new feature that allows users to manually archive most of their passes from either their smartphone or smartwatch.
These archived passes will be relocated to a section named “Archived Passes,” providing users with the option to reverse the action if needed or reference an old pass.
