Meta’s Threads is introducing a bookmarking feature aimed at allowing users to privately save posts for later reference without the need for a public “like.”
Bookmarking has proven popular among former X users and individuals who consume a substantial amount of news. It enables users to curate a collection of links and posts for future reference. X’s paid subscribers have the added benefit of organizing bookmarks into folders, facilitating easier access to their saved content.
Unlike X, where the bookmarking icon is easily accessible at the bottom of the post, Threads users will find the new feature somewhat concealed.
To save a post on Threads, users must tap the three-dot menu to access the “Save” option, deviating from the more direct approach on the main timeline.
Accessing saved bookmarks later requires users to navigate to the app’s Settings screen.
The introduction of the bookmarking feature is not the sole update noticed by Threads users. Some have reported receiving notifications from both Threads and Facebook within their Instagram notifications.
This aligns with Threads’ recent efforts to expand its features, including the testing of a cross-posting feature from Facebook to Threads, confirmed by the company last week.
